Disk Harrow ($65)

Use the Disk Harrow attachment for the Hoss Wheel Hoe to cultivate before planting and to keep weeds under control after planting. Easily change the angle of the concave disks to alter the degree of cultivation. MADE IN THE USA!

The Disk Harrow attachment for the Hoss Wheel Hoe has two sets of three, concave disks that cut into your garden soil to cultivate, cut weeds and prevent new weeds from growing. The simple push pin design allows you to easily change the angle of the disks, giving you the option of changing the degree of cultivation.

Set the harrow blades straight forward for breaking up stems and soil clods, set them at a medium angle for general soil cultivation, or set them at a deep angle for moving soil towards or away from plants. When plants are small, use the opening between disk sets to straddle the row and cultivate both sides in one pass with the Hoss Double Wheel Hoe.

Disk Harrow Specifications

  • Constructed with a 13” harrow bar made of powder-coated steel with two sets of zinc-plated harrow disks.
  • Each zinc-plated harrow disk has a 5 3/8” diameter and bronze bushings that allow the disks to easily rotate and cut through the soil.
  • Individual disks are spaced 2 3/8” apart with a 5” opening between disk sets.
  • Each disk set has 4 different directional settings that are easily changed by pulling and inserting the push pin.

Sweeps ($39)

The Sweeps are our most versatile attachment for the Hoss Wheel Hoe. They provide shallow cultivation to prevent feeder root damage while eliminating weeds from your garden. Great for weed prevention. MADE IN THE USA!

Our Wheel Hoe Sweeps attachment give you exceptional versatility for cultivating and weed control in your garden. The best way to manage weeds in your garden is to provide a shallow cultivation before they appear. Weed control in a vegetable garden is a preventative practice, not a reactive one.

Turn the Sweeps inward for a hula hoe or stirrup hoe setup that allows you to weed paths between rows. Turn them outward to weed close to plants without damaging feeder roots. Use with the Double Wheel Hoe to straddle the row when plants are small, allowing you to weed both sides of the row in a single pass.

Wheel Hoe Sweeps Attachment Details

  • Made of black, zinc-plated steel that has a professionally sharpened edge for cutting the toughest weeds in their path.
  • Each Sweep has a 7” long cutting blade which allows for a maximum 14” cutting path when turned inward for a hula hoe or stirrup hoe setup.
  • The left and right blades have slightly different angles so they will overlap when turned inward.*

*This allows you to alter the width of the cultivating/cutting path by adjusting the blades either closer together or farther apart for weeding paths of different widths.

Hoss Drip Layer ($139.99)
Hoss Drip Tape Layer Attachment makes it quick and easy to lay Drip Irrigation Tape with the Hoss Double Wheel Hoe and Plow Set. By simply pushing the Wheel Hoe along a furrow, the Drip Tape Layer Attachment places the drip tape into the furrow and covers it in one pass.

The Drip Tape Layer Attachment takes a two-person job and turns it into a one-person job! Easily attaches to the Hoss Double Wheel Hoe and allows you to lay our 1,640 ft. rolls of 8 mil Drip Irrigation Tape. We highly recommend using in conjunction with the Hoss Plow Set to bury the drip tape. Burying the drip tape keeps it upright with the emitters facing upward, so that the water is directed toward your plants — not away from them. It also prevents rodents from chewing into the tape, causing leaks and headaches.

For most crops, we recommend laying the drip tape in a furrow dug with the Hoss Double Wheel Hoe and Plow Attachments along the line of your desired row. This allows you to plant directly on top of the drip tape, whether it be via direct seeding with the Hoss Garden Seeder, or by transplants. For root crops such as carrots, beets and radishes, you won’t need to dig the aforementioned furrow before laying the drip tape. For these root crops, you can use the Plow Set attachment behind the Drip Tape Layer Attachment to bury the drip tape just under the soil. This will allow you to plant these root crops on both sides of the tape without the tape interfering with the root production of these crops.

*Cannot be used with Hoss Single Wheel Hoe

*Double Wheel Hoe, Plow Set and Drip Tape not included

Using the Drip Tape Layer Attachment

The Drip Tape Layer Attachment includes two galvanized nails for staking the Drip Tape at the end of each row. The nail pushed through the drip tape and into the ground will keep the drip tape roll tight and ensure that the drip tape roll feeds appropriately. Push one of the nails through the tape and into the ground, then push the Wheel Hoe with the Drip Tape Layer Attachment down the row to apply the drip tape into the furrow or on top of the soil. At the end of each row, simply cut the drip tape with a knife and use the other nail to stake the next row of drip tape.
